You Tube Video Not Ginger Rogers

How many of you remember Fred and Ginger?
To you younger people out there, Ginger Rogers is one of my favorite movie stars. Ginger was one of the greatest dancers back in the 20s and 30s. Her partner most times was Fred Astaire. I can watch those two dance all day.
I still watch her movies every time one comes on TCM channel. To tell you the truth I thought Ginger had died. I was truly amazed when I came across this video of Ginger dancing the Salsa with her 29 year old great grandson.
There was a video going around on You Tube stating that it was a video of Ginger dancing with her grandson. I fell for it. So sorry. I was so excited to see it and think that Ginger was still alive and dancing that I got sucked in and did not research it further.
The person that posted the video labeled it as "Ginger Rogers Dances Salsa With Grandson at 92".
After it was on You Tube for a while people started writing in saying it was NOT Ginger. It is Sarah Paddy Jones. Although it is not Ginger, the dancer Sarah Paddy at age 76 and is a fantastic dancer.
Ginger Rogers was born in 1911 and passed away in 1995. She was 83 and never had any children.
During her long career, she made 73 films. In 1940 she won an Academy Award for best actress in the film "Kitty Foyle.
Again so sorry to my readers
. This is a lesson learned (you can not always believe what you read) and taught on Hub pages to do your research before posting.

That is incredible and so inspiring! What's that quote?... something like Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did except backwards and in heels!? Thank you so much for sharing those videos!
Hugs for this, great2BU! I just featured Ginger in a utube singing & dancing to "The Saga Of Jenny" from "Lady In The Dark" on my hub, "Merriment". They were so good. I was thrilled that that song was still around. I went around singing it for years after seeing that movie in the 1940s. What fun those movies were!
And it's amazing how fluid she is at 92!
I may just have to put a link to this hub on mine! This is amazing.
Wow, Wow, I remember seeing her "Dancing Pictures" with Fred Astaire, when I was a kid back in the 50's...They were amazing back then...She is truly amazing now, still dancing with her "Great, Grandson"...Thanks so much for sharing all these videos. Two thumbs up!
This is really great. I love to watch old movies, Ginger was a beautiful dancer. I can't believe that she can move like that. I really didn't think she was still alive. Keeping in shape is so important to longevity. Thank you for sharing.
Nellianna mentioned your hub, and had to come and watch Ginger Rogers dance. WOW!!! What a role model for the rest of us! Will send your hub to my sister as she loves to dance.
Voted up!
She was before my time but I have a faint memory of her and Fred, Mom loved them I know. Great hub, I didn't know she was even alive, and was pretty sure I remembered hearing several years ago that he died.
OMG she looks fabulous and still dances like she is twenty. Very excited to know she is still alive and doing great!
She looks and dances great. I did not even know she was still alive.
Wow - I really am floored. She is absolutely amazing! Thanks for sharing this.
Hi, Oh my Goodness! I thought she had gone years ago! that was amazing! she must have danced every day of her life to be able to keep that up! you have managed to make me say 'wow' today! lol cheers nell
OMG! I'm smiling ear to ear and totally speechless! I've always thought Ginger Roger's was the bomb... I see now I was always right!
She makes me want to get up and dance! What an amazing video.
Thank you so much!
Hate to be a spoilsport...because it's a nice thought and that woman in the clip is a terrific dnacer..but it's not Ginger Rogers.
jane, you are so right. It has come out that the video being pasted around is bogus. So sorry to my readers. I was so excited when I got this in my email because Ginger Rogers was my favorite actress of all times. I will edit this hub. She did pass away in 1995
I remember watching Ginger and Fred on the "Late Show" with my mother on Sturday nights as I was growing up. She seemed to glide with such ease!
I remember too how someone oce said she did everything Fred did, only BACKWARDS! I was so impressed!
Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane, and the great videos! Two VERY amazing ladies! This made my day!
This may not have been Ginger Rogers, but for a moment we all were transported back to a simpler and more beautiful time by the second clip.. which was Ginger. And the first clip is still an amazing video, and gives me hope for my "golden years".
Thank you for the journey. :)
Ginger Rogers died at the age of 83 in 1995, so the vivacious senior citizen kicking up her heels in the viral video above is someone other than Fred Astaire's best known movie musical dance partner.
Nor is that senior citizen 92 years old, it turns out, though her real age, 75, is hardly less impressive. The septuagenarian in question is Sarah "Paddy" Jones, described in the Times of London as a "demure British grandmother" who danced away with the first prize in the 2009 season of Tu Si Que Vales ("You Are Worth It"), Spain's equivalent of Britain's Got Talent.
Mrs. Jones and her salsa partner, Nico Espinoza (40 years her junior but not her grandson, sources say), toured the globe for a year afterward and competed in other televised dance contests, but recently parted ways due to "tensions" in their relationship, it has been reported. In a March 1, 2011 interview with the Wolverhampton Express & Star, Jones said the search for his replacement is already underway.
I'm happy to see the information is rectified as this is not Ginger Rogers in the video. She died in 1995.
